Also you can wrap nicely these M&M cookies and offer them as a gift to your friends, neighbors or coworkers. Everybody loves homemade cookies, right?
These cookies are also very easy to prepare. You start by mixing the butter and the sugar, then add the egg and the egg yolk and then incorporate the flour. And finally stir in the M&Ms.
You can also add chocolate chips, raisins, or nuts.
As regarding the butter (which is very important for this recipe), I recommend you to use unsalted butter because it has a higher fat content than salted butter. Or use a 80% fat butter. It’s very important to use unsalted butter or 80% fat butter because your cookies will spread less and rise nicely.
Next you must refrigerate the batter for at least 30 minutes – 1 hour. It will be easier to shape the cookies. Also they will spread less and rise nicely.
Making these M&M cookies can also be a fun activity with your kids. Ask them to join you to roll out small balls of dough and top them with M&Ms. In this case you should have some extra M&Ms, kids eat them pretty fast :).
These M&M cookies go great along with a glass of milk or along with a cup of steamy hot chocolate.
