Triple chocolate mousse cake

This triple chocolate mousse cake is so rich, creamy and decadent and yet incredibly easy to make! This homemade chocolate cake is a family favorite and you definitely have to give it a try.
I’ve made a quick and easy version of this triple chocolate mousse cake: no baking, no cooking, just melting some chocolate and whipping some cream 😀 I thing this is the easiest cake recipe ever.
I didn’t wanted to bake a cake so I’ve made an Oreo crust with crumbled Oreos and melted butter. It was a great choice because these cookies go great with chocolate and I’ve saved a lot of time. To make the crust just crumble the cookies into a food processor, add melted butter, transfer to the cake tin and press.

The chocolate mousse layers are also easy to make. For the dark chocolate layer, just combine dark chocolate and whipping cream, let cool and stir in the whipped cream. Then pour the mixture over the Oreo crust. This dark chocolate layer doesn’t need gelatin.

For the milk chocolate and white chocolate layers repeat the process and add gelatin.

How to make the triple chocolate mousse cake

You should start by preparing the springform pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper and butter the sides. Set aside.

How to make the Oreo crust

Place the Oreos into a blender and blend until you have fine crumbs. Add melted butter and mix to combine.
Transfer the mixture to the springform pan. Use a spoon, a glass or your hand to firmly press down the Oreo mixture. Refrigerate while making the chocolate mousse.

How to make the dark chocolate layer

Break the dark chocolate into pieces and place it into a heat proof pan. Add the whipping cream. Place the pan over low-medium heat and cook until the chocolate is completely melted. Let cool to room temperature.
Mix the whipping cream until fluffy. Add the whipped cream to the dark chocolate mixture and gently fold it in.
Remove the springform pan from the fridge and spoon the dark chocolate cream onto the Oreo crust. Use a spoon or a spatula to evenly spread the cream.
Refrigerate while making the next layer.

How to make the milk chocolate layer

Place the gelatin into a small bowl. Add water and let sit while melting the chocolate.
Break the milk chocolate into pieces and place it into a heat proof pan. Add the whipping cream. Place the pan over low-medium heat and cook until the chocolate is completely melted. Let cool just for a few minutes then stir in the gelatin. Let cool to room temperature.
Mix the whipping cream until fluffy. Add the whipped cream to the milk chocolate mixture and gently fold it in.
Remove the springform pan from the fridge and pour the milk chocolate mixture over the dark chocolate layer.
Place into the freezer while preparing the white chocolate cream.

How to make the white chocolate layer

Place gelatin into a bowl, add water and let sit. Then place white chocolate and whipping cream into a heat proof pan and melt. Let cool just a little bit, then stir in the gelatin. Let cool the room temperature. Stir in the whipped cream. Pour the mixture over the milk chocolate layer.
Refrigerate for about 6 hours (over night is even better).
Remove the cake from the tin, decorate with sprinkles, chocolate or fresh fruits.
