How to make homemade egg noodles – video recipe

Why homemade egg noodles? Because they are simply the best! Homemade egg noodles are incredibly tender and flavorful and the whole preparation process takes about 30 minutes. It totally worth the effort!
To make these delicious egg noodles you need only flour, eggs and a pinch of salt. You can also add your favorite spice like ground pepper, garlic powder, paprika or herbs.
I prefer fresh egg noodles because they are absolutely delicious and very tender, they simply melt into your mouth. But you can prepare a large amount of noodles, let them dry and keep them in fabric bags. Next time you want to make your favorite soup just grab some noodles from the fabric bag and toss them into the boiling soup.

– 1 large egg
– 100 gr (3/4 cups and 1 tablespoon) flour
– a pinch of salt
Optional: ground pepper, paprika, ground cumin, aromatic herbs

How to make homemade egg noodles

Crack the egg into a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and beat the egg until fluffy. Gradually stir in the flour. When the dough is to thick to stir, continue to knead until the whole flour is incorporated.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let sit for about 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes place the dough onto the slightly floured working table and divide it into 2 equal pieces.

Place one piece of dough onto the slightly floured table (set aside the 2nd piece of dough).
Roll out the dough into a rectangle, as thin as you can. Set aside.
Repeat with the 2nd piece of dough. 
Let the sheets of dough air dry for about 10-20 minutes. 
Place the 2 sheets of dough one on top of the other and roll up. Cut thin strips.
Separate the noodles and transfer to a slightly floured platter
You can use the egg noodles right away or air dry them for later.
